THE NIGERIAN 2: Nigeria politics
General politics

Before I dissect the Nigerian as a politician, I would like us to look into Nigeria political system. The Nigerian political system is a multi party system with about twenty six (26) registered political parties but only very few parties are occupying available positions in the government. One might be tempted to ask why political parties like the PDC (people for democratic change), that does not have a representative in the house of assembly would still exist as a political party in Nigeria. Political parties of such reputation only exist because of the following reasons;
Some of the founders of these parties use their party structures to make money during elections. Most times these parties do not conduct primary elections or sometimes conduct a caricature primaries and so the party system is such that a particular person is always representing the party something like a “life candidacy” what this candidates does is to collect money from one of a stronger opponent in that election and then claim that he is pushing over his –let’s say 50,000 supporters, but the opponent knows that he does not have up to 50,000 supporters. In any case the opponent will still give him the money after all the money is not his, it belongs to his sponsors and he is just following the rule of Nigerian elections –which is: to share the money.
Another reason such political parties exist; is to cause distractions during the elections. In many occasion, the founders of these political parties might not be happy with the fact that only some individuals in their community is being celebrated and so to satisfy their ego, even though they are fully aware that nothing would ever make them to win the elections. They still get involved so that their name and posters would appear everywhere in their community. Meaning that indirectly they have bought popularity very expensively, because there are cheaper ways for them to gain popularity. When you look at such people you would laugh at the time, effort and money they have just wasted looking for popularity, when they would have just gone to AIT, NTA or one of Nigerians media house and just pay for time to keep announcing their personality. It would have been cheaper wouldn’t it?
Now to the business men. They form small political party so that they can use that to get favor from government. They are very wise people they always avoid the big and stronger opposing parties, so that government would not use it against them. They either join the party of the present government or form small political parties, and then make friends with government by claiming to have a common enemy –the stronger opposition party and that together they can fight the enemy. Even though they know that they would not win the elections, they know that at least they have spent money trying to buy government favors in the future, hoping to collect back the money they have spent and even more in kind. Business men –wise people.
 Some Nigerians are funny; they just form political parties for no real reason. They just want to join the fun of elections and flex their muscle that is all, nothing else.

LIFE MATTERS 1: POWER

Life matters 1: power

Power can be described in other words as capability, influence, physical force and strength. For anybody in the world to live a fulfilled and successful life, such a person must possess a reasonable amount of the natural powers which the earth presents. The life we live in is controlled by a lot of factors. Many a times we live in the world ignorant of the numerous powers we have at our disposal. This is why people all over the world and most especially Nigeria, run from point to point looking for miracles, even where there is no miracle. But one thing people don’t know is that to be successful, all we need is to effectively combine of the natural powers which we have at our disposal. There are several natural powers in this world. Some of the powers in our world include the followings:

• Power of smile
• Power attributed to morality
• Power attributed to spirituality
• Power of hard work
• Power attributed to deep thinking
• Power of faith
• Power of fear
• Power of humility. E.t.c

I know this is not new to some people, what might be a debating fact, is the inclusion of some of powers. I would not talk about all the powers today. Nevertheless, there is a very important power I would like to about. The power of fear
The power of fear
Fear, fear is a strong, unpleasant emotion caused by actual or perceived anger or treat. Far from what people believe, fear itself is not a bad thing. What is bad about fear is its management. Fear is a very important key for success in whatever we do. If we don’t fear failure, how can we work hard to succeed? If we are not afraid of failure, how can we read to pass? If we don’t fear death, how can we be careful in whatever we do? Fear in another sense can be a demotivating factor when we do not manage it well. When we fear too much then fear becomes a problem to us and not a power. For instance if we are too afraid about an exam we are preparing for, then there is every tendency that some element of nervousness and anxiety would set in, and most a time we tend to be too careful and at end we start making a lot of mistakes –remember the ultimate rule: too much of everything is bad. THE NIGERIAN 1: WHO IS A NIGERIAN?

Who is a Nigerian?
Many people in Nigeria and in other parts of the world would define a Nigerian as a person that is from Nigeria or a descent of Nigeria. But for me, a Nigerian is defined as one of the followings:
A Nigerian is a person that always wants to be the first to perform a giving task, even if he was the last to come. A Nigerian is also that man or woman that will always want to worry about everything even if there is actually nothing to worry about. A Nigerian is also that youth that will always complain about how bad the Nigerian government system is, but if he is given the chance to make things right he would refuse and then say after all it is not my father’s business. But we all know that it is actually his father’s land and technically it is his business. A Nigerian is that man that would sit at home and say that government officials are dump and not intelligent. But if those same government officials proffer a wonderful policy, they would laugh at it and then say something like “don’t mind them they are looking for their own pocket money“ the most common definition of a Nigerian is; a Nigerian is a man or a woman that always complain about the corrupt nature of the country, but when it is time for elections and you go for campaign as a politician he or she would ask for a present from you and if you fail to give him anything he would curse you and then tell you that you are not serious in winning the forth coming election for whatever you are vying for. Please people is that not corruption? The least common definition of a Nigerian is as follows; a Nigerian is a man or a woman that hails from Nigeria and believes in the development and success of Nigeria and then works hard every day and night to see that the country NIGERIA achieves a great feat in terms development and progress.
Well this is Nigeria and this is the way we do things. I tell you as Nigerians we do not like change we always like to build a kind of comfort zone around an existing system. But can you blame us, no! Because in the past we did things right we always sort for the best way to carry out a project but it did not take us far. Other selfish Nigerians took advantage of our sincerity and dynamism to achieve their own personal goals.
Now for all foreigners both those in Nigeria and those that reside abroad that in one way or the other have been victims of Nigeria's corrupt practices, I on behalf of Nigerians all over the world is apologizing for the misdeeds any Nigerian must have done to you. We as Nigerians would like you to forgive us, because Nigerians are a very religious bunch.
